The Affordable Care Act or The patient Protection Act is one of the various issues that was intensely discussed More universally it is known as Obamacare President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law on March 23 2013 Over the past few decades Americas health care system has been hurting the middle class because of its ridiculous costs The purpose of Obamacare is to help more people get insured by either expanding coverage for the poor or by making private insurance more affordable for the middle class Despite his good intentions not everyone approves of this health system and author Paul Krugman is one of opponents The article The Big Kludge by Paul Krugman appeared in The New York Times on October 28 2013 Krugman writes his article to appeal to different types of audiences supporting it with the rhetorical modes He uses logical ethical and emotional appeal effectively in order to convince and persuade othersKrugmans argument is logical and arranged in a well-established order He begins his essay with a piece of news about the Obamacare plan which describes that the American administrations decision to no longer minimizes Obamacares problems He explains that even though the functioning of the new health care policy would inconclusive it will be fixed Krugmans decision on using the news was a good start for capturing the audiences interest because Obamacare has been an issue from the beginning and has been a problem since Krugman states his main point by saying Still the fact remains that Obamacare is an immense kludge- a clusmsy ugly structure that more or less deals with a problem but in an inefficient way Krugman gives some rhetorical devices such as question and answer and claim to fact He claims that Obamacare as constituted is too complicated a mix of the private and public sectorsFor example he quotes The thing is such better-than-nothing-but-pretty-bad-solutions have become the norm in American governance As Steven Teles of
