Psychology comes from two Greek words psycheand logosPsyche meaning soul and logos meaning words Psychology is more than behavior more than mind more than thought and more than emotion Psychology is the words about the soul I believe that Macbeth can be considered a psychologically reviewed play We can all say the phrase that Macbeth has lost his mind We say that phrase so loosely because its natural to say that when you see someone who is acting crazy Next time you catch yourself saying that lost hisher mind phrase ask yourself this what is the mind No one really knows what the mind is Although we do know what the brain is The brain is the thing inside our head that controls us The brain helps us think and it also helps how we perceive things The brain sends us emotion and feelings It also controls our behavior and overall the brain controls how we react to the environment As we read throughout the play it seems as if Macbeth is fighting his own brain Macbeth knows who he is deep down in his soul So why doesnt he listen to his brain which sends him soulful feelings Everyone has free will until they want something Then that something you want will control you Macbeth starts off with three Witches discussing when and where they will meet with Macbeth Then we jump to act one scene three where the Witches meet up with Banquo and Macbeth All hail Macbeth that shalt be king hereafter I iii 51 Macbeth is intrigued by what the Witches have to say and he says and to be king Stands not within the prospect of belief No more than to be Cawdor Say from whence You owe this strange intelligence Or why Upon this blasted heath you stop our way With such prophetic greeting Speak I charge you I iii 74-79 Macbeth is left with confusion
