SHAKESPEARES HAMLET By Cailin Thompson Hamlet one of William Shakespeares greatest plays was written around the 1600s In those days theatres and plays were hard to come by for the poor people and the rich always mocked the actors Women were not allowed to act so if they needed someone to play womens part they would have to find a boy whose voice had not changed Shakespeare was an author that wrote beautiful and romantic plays William Shakespeare was a man who looked for romance in all the possible ways Shakespeares pays were full of many strong emotions and full of romance even though the lovers in his plays ended up with a tragic ending Thats why millions of people love to read Shakespeares books Hamlet was about a man in his 30s who had just found out his father was murdered and his mother the Queen had married his Uncle Claudius Shakespeares play Hamlet was and still is the most popular out of all his plays It wasnt so much a tragedy as it was also in a way a mystery It would raise Questions from the audience or readers about the ghost was it good or bad Is Hamlet really crazy or is he still just acting Why does Hamlet take so long to kill the King These questions never really get answered It all depends on the person and how they decipher the play Hamlets world was bleak and cold He thought no one or anything could be trusted By Hamlet thinking this he made the woman he loved Ophelia go crazy Hamlet couldnt even trust his mother the queen because she had married his uncle right after his fathers death Hamlet never got over his fathers death and would walk around the castle every morning which drove the new King mad Another character that Hamlet didnt trust was the ghost nor did he trust what it
