Is an individual curious of what certain trivial things can bring Isnt everyone There are always millions of little details that slip under ones eyes Sometimes we catch them and other times we dont These details could affect or even change our perspectives about the world either gradually or suddenly However in order to catch these things and gain something from them - whether its a life lesson or just a bit of knowledge - takes diligent inquiry For example if one was to use sight as their method of inquiry one would need to carefully and delicately observe their subject of interest In return the subject will take the individual far on their adventure of exploring Mark Doty based his essay Souls on Ice on shimmering mackerels he caught glimpses of in a grocery store After the first encounter he found himself thinking again about the fish and even scribbled some phrases Occasions 92 He couldnt get his mind off it and was eagerly looking for something that he was unaware of He says of his experience the goal here is inquiry the attempt to get at what it is thats so interesting about whats struck me Occasions 92 He wasnt the only one who was drawn to the little details One summer I travelled to Okinawa located in the northernmost area of Japan With my parents we went to a beautiful beach called Hoshizuna Under the cloudless sky the sea was so pure that one could see twelve to fifteen meters through the water I went fishing on a boat and I could see schools of fish swimming rapidly to the bait Such a heavenly environment made me forget human society and I grew or the environment fostered in me the desire to become a hermit if only to live there with Mother Nature forever Of course with all the beauty in front of me I greedily wanted more Walking along the shoreline
