JURASSIC PARK written by Michael Crichton This was a very lengthy and detailed book of 399 pages However it was very well written The introduction consisting of four 4 pages provided details regarding genetic research and technology during the 20th century and projections for the coming century The introduction is followed by the prologue consisting of seven 7 pages The purpose of the prologue was to set the scene for the remainder of the book It was very graphic including details of the viciousness of a Raptor attack on a human As the book begins the first section is entitled First Iteration There is a total of seven 7 iterations Iteration is a word meaning to repeat or repetitive Within each iteration the book is broken down into many subsections This has been done to give the book flow and continuity due to its length This process of writing better enables the reader to keep track of the facts and sequence of events John Hammond an eccentric millionaire is the main character of Jurassic Park He is a most irritating character Mr Hammond is both greedy and selfish Many consider him crazy and cheap as well despite his millions He states if it were up to him he would charge a 10000 admission fee to the park In his idealistic mind he believes that nothing can go wrong with the development of this park and resort The book revolves around his intent to open a resort and theme park on a remote island near Costa Rica and the problems he encounters Plans for this park revolve around a zoo-like atmosphere with rides games and animals One of the animal aspects includes dinosaurs Yes the supposedly extinct dinosaur The resort portion will include a fashionable hotel with tennis courts and many other amenities However as Hammond begins the project is plagued with many problems Not the least of which is
