The colonists of the Revolution era had three choices They could have chosen to be patriots people willing to fight and die for liberty They could have been loyalists willing to die to remain faithful to the king of England The last option was not to make a definite choice between the two sides If they stayed neutral and agreed with whatever side won they would surely be safe Those neutrals sat on the sidelines literally Some perched themselves on hillsides along with their family and their picnic basket to watch the Revolution unfold Just as people had three choices during the American Revolution today another revolution requires a choice That revolution is Christ Some people give their hearts to Christ and live passionately for him They truly live by taking up their cross daily and following Jesus Lost souls are just recruits waiting to be enlisted by them in the Lords army Like the colonists they have a plan for action They do not enter the battlefield without a strategy because their focus is clear and their goal certain Just as the Loyalists rejected the idea of freedom from Britain some reject the freedom that Christ gives from sin They have heard the message and yet do not believe In some cases they will do anything to defeat the cause of Christianity and everyone representing it They fight on but cannot see that in the end they will loose Then there are those who are content to know the gospel maybe to have even given their hearts to Christ but reject its lifestyle They are lukewarm Other people can do the work they say I am fine here watching the battle because Im safe either way Those are perhaps in the most danger In our fight for Christianity we are truly in a struggle However that struggle is not against flesh and blood No it is against principalities and the powers
