Prayers for Bobby Evaluation There are those times where we all feel like just giving up and throwing in the towel We fall to our knees become overwhelmed and get frustrated At times theyre those people who feel like giving up for good by contemplating suicide but always pull through it Moreover theyre those people who contemplate suicide then go through with it The movie Prayers for Bobby tells the story of an 18 year old homosexual that struggles daily to get his mothers acceptance of his lifestyle eventually he gave up Prayers for Bobby a three time award winning movie is based on a true story from the late 1970s that impacted society emotionally and spiritually The director Russell Machy is who made this movie such a successful inspirational movie This movie was released January 24 2009 and premiered on Hallmark Lifetime and the Lifetime Movie Network LMN The movie stars Sigourney Weaver who played the role of Mary Griffith Bobbys mother and Ryan Kelley who played the role of Bobby Griffith Prayers for Bobby is a movie of reality and rigorous truth however the dialogue the acting and the plot of the story are some of the aspects that made Prayers for Bobby an inspirational unforgotten story that can connect emotionally with a specific audienceIn Prayers for Bobby Mary Griffith is a zealous Christian who considers in educating her children with the rules and teachings of the Presbyterian Church When Bobby announces to Ed that he thinks hes a homosexual the lives of everyone in the family change While Bobbys father and siblings gradually came to accept his way of life Mary wasnt going to let anything come in between her family being together in the afterlife She believed that God could cure Bobby so she tries to force Bobby to pray harder and to seek forgiveness by joining church activities Bobby wanted nothing more than his mothers
