The human kind is known as the most intelligent form of life on the Earth What makes us so superior over the rest of the species Some may argue but I think that it is our ability to think in abstract Abstract thought couples with our drive to evolve and create better and more sophisticated things which in terms explain humans progress throughout their existence Our progress however is based on a few fundamental discoveries and innovations which were subsequently built upon And once there was no more room to build the progress stopped for a long periods of time Back in the days when primitive people populated the planet the only way to get places was simply by walking They had to carry their belongings on their shoulders Occasionally they had to migrate Moving a tribe from place to place was problematic and exhausting The idea came along and people started using animals such as horses to carry heavy loads Shortly after people adopted some of the animals as their helpers another invention was made This time it was a cart only without wheels that was strapped to the back of an animal under a low angle That was a good idea and it work effectively for a while But the tribes grew bigger and demands rose higher So this time people came up with an ingenious and rather a revolutionary idea which is widely used in the modern world - the wheel - it was developed 3000 to 3500 years ago The progress halted for a long time after this invention The men kind however had always wandered what would it feel like flying and some have tried developing flying devices but without any success not for a long time The point Im trying to make is that people had an idea but they just couldnt bring it to life Of course the airplane was eventually developed but not until 1903 Encarta 2000
