One of Esther Forbes best novels is called Johnny Tremain which takes place in Boston 1772 The book Johnny Tremain is about a young man named Johnny Lyte Tremain who started out as an arrogant and hard-headed apprentice Later he was more humble and more magnanimous which later on leads him into the inner world of politics Ultimately he was more passionate before and after a tragic moment occurred after the defeat of the Battle of Lexington In the beginning Johnny was an arrogant boy who is overconfident of his work and productive in the house Later he became depressed after an accident Dove did purposely that debilitated his hand After a while Johnny was told that he was useless and disobedient and was fired from being an apprentice silversmith Afterwards he searched for a job as a butcher by later changed his mind and later he turned to the Boston Observer and made a new friend Rab When he was hired to deliver newspapers he met an abused and timid horse named Goblin Previously with the Laphams he had a lot of tempers because of two apprentices Dove and Dusty Because of Rabs influence Johnny became a better person by Rabs calm quiet and confident personality Therefore made Rab as Johnnys role model In the end Johnny became a very humble and responsible man Johnny had more sympathy for others during and after the war He also had a stronger opinion because of war and made him understand life better Johnny lost Rab because of his serious injuries caused by the battle with Lexington Before Rab passed away Rab gave him the musket and the gun to have which gave Johnny an opportunity to use his crippled hand again Johnnys attitude towards Dr Warren was more courteous and also allowed him to examine the crippled hand more thoroughly In conclusion Johnnys personality changed from being arrogant and hard-headed to a passionate and humble man
