The film I have chosen to write about is the movie To Kill a Mockingbird It is a film that touches base on racial disputes and injustice The film also revolves around a family that lives in a small town located in the south during the 1930s During that time period race discrimination was very serious and many people were affected by it Atticus was a respected white man who didnt see color and treated everyone fairly He stayed true to who is was and was not affected by the indifferent thoughts of his peersThe novel that was surrounded by the film was from author Harper Lee in 1961 Saadia Abbasi states Its a global appeal lies in its depiction of childhood innocence its scathing moral condemnation of racial prejudice and its affirmation that human goodness can withstand the assault of evil It is very evident the situations that occurred in film would leave viewers feeling indifferently The narrator of the film is Jean Louise Scout Finch who is the daughter of Atticus Finch Viewers and critics are seeing a town change and relationship tested The audience has a sense of how Scout feels as a narrator and of Tom Robinson who was falsely accused of rape To Kill a Mockingbird addresses themes such as integrity m an abiding code of honor and justice good and evil compassion courage racial prejudices the death of innocence tragedy and coming of age This film is over 40 years old but is still is shown all over the world There is and will always be controversy over this film and what its trying to implicate to viewers Although many people are still in disagreement on films deception its no doubt that there a underlying truth behind it allAn interview with Horton Foote was taken by Professor David L Middleton of the University of San Antonio in 1973 Middleton explores the mind of the brilliant screenwriter and playwright
