Jim's feedback:
"Write years in numbers: 1970s, 1967 to 1977. Similarly, write cardinal numbers greater than nine in numerals unless the format calls for spelling them out. It is good practice to place a comma after the penultimate member of a list, and many formats require it. Use an em dash (—) to break up a sentence, with no space on either side, and not a hyphen. You can make this by inserting a symbol in MS-Word, or with character code on a PC or shift-option-dash on a Mac. Avoid capitalization of common nouns, and the use of informal language such as contractions.
Your first paragraph discusses various killers, but it does not introduce the topic of your essay. You state opinions and relate facts without documentation. Your writing lacks focus. Concise, direct writing and focus help maintain the reader’s interest. Short paragraphs promote comprehension."
