In the poem Because I could not stop for Death by Emily Dickinsonthe speaker has mixed emotions about death Sometimes she is calm andbrave and at other times you can tell she is unsure and timid So wasthe whole time the speaker terrified and just acting The speaker wascompletely honest with her comfortable feelings and trust for deaththroughout the poem The speaker shows her calmness through her tone ofvoice in the poem Although you cannot actually hear the speaker say thepoem the mood in the poem seems joyful and happy In stanza one the speaker offers a more positive view of death Shetells the reader how he was kind enough to go out of his way and stopfor her This is very ironic because most people have a dark and badperception about death when they really know nothing about it Forinstance people cannot die and then come back to earth and tell us whathappen when they died Personally I think people have a dark and badperception about death because they know the pain they feel when thelose someone close to them Then because that person is so miserablethey think as if death stole the person rather than being positive andthink that that person is in a better place with no more worries The speaker also feels the same about death in the next stanza Thespeaker feels at ease and peace because she had put away her labor andleisure in order for her to complement his civility or going outof his way and stop for her This shows that she was calm with Deathbecause we as people feel peaceful and relaxed by those who put us atease For instance when kids are little and they are afraid of a dreamor a monster when they run to their parents room everything seems to befine because of the way the parents stay relaxed Also since Death actso polite it makes her feel safe because you would
