When I first arrived at K I think it was the summer of freshman year in High School Of course coming from abroad the journey was long and I was tired But when I arrived on campus my initial impression was it was a very clean campus Both in the sense that it was well maintained and that there was a low drug use on campus I got these impressions first from the 3 golf carts I saw roaming campus picking up the recycling Second there were really no marks or signs of vandalism anywhere and it had been my experience that people who use drugs have tendencies to vandalize school buildings But there was no evidence of this anywhere My other first impressions were of the people Initially I thought K was a very strict college mainly because everyone seemed to be rushing to class I remember one group of kids I think there were 3 or 4 of them who were walking and talking together when all of a sudden they sprinted up the quad and presumably went to class Then since I had to meet with the admissions people first I found the people at K to be very friendly Of course now I would expect the people in admissions to be friendlier than the rest of campus since prospies like myself would meet them first I had a tour of campus and I really didnt pay much attention to it because the tour guide I had looked like Selma Hayek and I love Selma Hayek So from the beginning I was hooked on coming to K because my tour guide looked like a famous actress Other small things like the class sizes and the courses that were offered also attracted my attention but didnt really add to my first impressions of K Those factors were what I really expected to see in a college There was something else that didnt attract
