Theatre Critique Brigadoon For my theatre class I watched the musical Brigadoon which was performed by Moorpark Colleges Theatre students The play took place in their very plush performing arts center It took place in Mid November and was overall a fantastic production As I walked in there was nice subtle classical music playing in the lobby It was very soothing to hear as we got our programs which were basic programs nothing over the top or fancy but thats the way it should be and looked at the various pictures they had displayed The ambiance was very casual because most of the people who came to see it were college students so I felt very homey I dressed in my jeans and a sweater and Im glad I wasnt the only one I hate being under or over dressed I felt right at home in this theatre my little cousin was asleep on my arm There were no refreshments offered before the play only during intermission However there was water available and restrooms too which made it pretty kid-friendly During Intermission you could buy a soda or coffee or snacks like cookies and chips It was inexpensive probably because they were not expecting profit just offering it as a convience to the audience The play was Brigadoon written by Alan Jay Lerner and once showed on broadway It was a musical comedy my favorite type of play The protagonist was Tommy Albright who falls in love with a local girl You know he is the protagonist because the audience me felt the most empathy for him We followed his downfalls and triumphs and felt remorse for
