The Unrequired Throughout history there have been many different types and forms of religions Religious based civilizations have risen and fallen orders have formed and disbanded and gods have been created and forgotten There have been no records within the switch over periods of massive amounts of death due to religious withdrawal Therefore one could conclude that religious belief is not an essential part of life This shall be justified through the examination of basic human needs and the idea that religious belief is a luxury Religious belief has little apparent impact human life in biological terms Meditative practices and religious diets do affect the human body but the religious ideas behind them do not The belief in religion alone does not physically nourish the body nor does it protect and shelter A human cannot be sustained on religious belief alone nor is religious belief required to maintain ones life One could consider that if religious beliefs were not needed to sustain life then it would no longer be an essential but a luxury Luxuries are things that people do not need such as television sports and designer clothing Although luxuries are indeed nice things to have they are not mandatory to continue existing All of this considered one can see through plain logic that because religious belief does not biologically support humans it must be treated as a luxury Although most humans enjoy and cherish luxuries they are not essential to life It is most unlikely that we will die tomorrow if we lose our television because it is a luxury Therefore religious belief being a luxury is not essential to life
