Bridget's feedback:
"You are off to a good start, and you'll have a solid draft to work with once you've finished up the essay. It looks like you are still working with the symbols and considering how they build toward a larger project within the novel. Doing some brainstorming (outlining, Venn diagram, freewriting) might help you start to put this together. You want to help your reader understand how and why Bradbury uses these particular symbols in the story (how they "fit into place in the story", para. 1).
Once you've done so, you can work the thesis into your introduction and craft a conclusion, currently missing from this draft. Keep in mind that your reader relies on the conclusion to help them understand how each of the supporting ideas relates back to the thesis.
Depending on where you take the discussion, you may need to work a little more with the concept of character as symbol; it's not clear if you are arguing that Faber becomes a symbol of hope to the other characters or within the novel's wider themes and structure. Again, this is something work through as you develop your thesis."
