Is it the schools job to make students feel interested in them In fact it is the students responsibility to be interested and the teachers job to keep the students attention Do people really need schools According to Gatto a teacher who taught for thirty years in some of the worst school in Manhattan Gatto 300 people do not need schools He does not believe that schools achieve these three points make good people make good citizens and make each person his or her personal best Coming from a foreign country I have a different point of view of how schools achieve at least one of these points Some students do not appreciate the opportunities they have to build their knowledge Boredom is one of the points Gatto makes in his essay He says that according to the students the reason of why they were bored during class was because the work was stupid it did not make sense and they already knew it Being bored is a decision someone makes How can a student be bored in a classroom where she or he is supposed to be paying attention I am from Venezuela where a private school is nothing compared to the public schools here in United States Also paying for school is expensive Furthermore in terms of college in Venezuela there is nothing such as FAFSA which make it easy for American students to go to college FAFSAis a Free Application for Federal Student Aid People either pay or wait as long as a year to get accepted in a public college American students have all kind of resources so why spend time in a classroom being bored instead of studying Because American students have everything easy some of them do not see the importance of being in school Although it is true that not everyone needs school to succeed in life education is one of the ways to success and is better
