The reason I think everyone should become an organ donor are the benefits that come from organ donation Imagine a loved ones such as a mother father brother sister grandparents aunt uncle or a cousin needing an organ transplant and not being able to find a donor A hundred and five thousand people are on the list waiting for organ transplants four thousand are adding to the list each day Many myths confuse and discourage people into becoming an organ donor such as a physician does not work hard to save your life so they can use your organs to save someone on the waiting list Organ donation does not leave the family with bills of organ donation all the bills of the organ donation are given to the family of the patient that received the organ transplant There are many debates whether or not living donors should be given financial benefits such as tax credits or tax reductions Why be an organ donor That is question that many people ask themselves before making the final decision of being an organ donor or not Twenty people die each day waiting on organ donations and transplants which is seventy three hundred people a year There is no use in your organs when you are gone so donate them to someone who can use them after you The myth that physicians will not try as hard to save you if you are an organ donor The actual fact to the myth is that physicians try as hard to save your life as they would if you were not an organ donor The first priority in the hospital room is to save your life More than likely the physician is your room is a specialist in your illness or injury Physicians are also not allowed to talk to your family members about your decision to be an organ donor until you are pronounced brain dead Donating organs
