A modest 57 to 41 majority of all adults continue to approve the 1973 Supreme Court decision It is one of the most controversial issues in the world today Everyone holds their individual opinions furthermore people who hold a pro-life view argue about murder and a pro-choice view argue that a life has not been taken What if the fetus is unhealthy or its a result of rape What if you wanted an abortion and the laws in your state wouldnt allow it The abortion laws set by the 1973 Supreme Court Case Roe vs Wade must stand and not be overturned by any means When the US Supreme Court legalized abortion in the case Roe vs Wade many obvious health benefits increased Americans benefited physically emotionally and socially from the decision of legalized abortion 1According to the website Planned Parenthood Federation Of America the most important benefit has been to end the back ally butchers They were motivated by money and preformed many unsafe abortions which left many women dead or injured Elimination of these butchers saved many lives 2 The website American Life League mentions that if a womens pregnancy is causing her emotional problems she may terminate her pregnancy at any time This would be an abortion for reason of health and the well being of the mother 3Finally the Planned ParenthoodOrg website explains if safe legal abortions were not available more women would experience unwanted births Mothers with unwanted births suffer from higher levels of depression and lower levels of happiness It would be better to have an abortion than have a child grow up unwanted The fetal development plays an important role when a mother considers having an abortionThe Supreme Court would divide the life of a preborn baby into three trimesters which would help make the state have some control over abortion as the baby becomes capable of meaningful life outside the mothers womb 1The American Life League website
