While I was reading the Hamilton Spectator I came across two articles one stating that Canadas Military is ready for combat and another stating that it wasnt the article stating its readiness was made by the PM and the article stating it was not ready was made by an editor named Steve Arnold I agree with the PM because he knows best about his country and I disagree with the article stating that I is not ready because it is just the editors opinion In the article made by the Primeinister Jean Creatin he says that Canadian forces are ready and willing to help out the American led war against Terrorism Saying that Canada will provide CF-18 fighter jets Special Forces and military intelligence Jean says that shortly after 12 noon on the 8th he had a 10 min conversation on the phone with President George Bush agreeing to these conditions under certin restrictions In the second article corresponding to the statements made by Jean the editor says Canadian military is unable to fight the best with the best and win Steve Arnold goes on saying that if Canada put in military troops it would be disastrous That the casualties would out weight the survivors of war In the survey it says that Canadian army failed almost every test The Canadian military is trained in hostage negotiations and unconventional tactics I think that the PM knows best about his countries military and would not subject Canadian forces to an unjust or an unequipped fight Weather or not the survey says that Canada is not ready it is only a survey and is only based on opinion If Canada indeed goes into battle Im sure they are well equipped and well trained to do so So in conclusion the PM is knowledgeable to the fact that Canadian army is not as equipped or do the have as many resources at their
