Many people believe that in pursuing their vision of the American Dream the Younger Family made a mistake by not taking Linders money I think they didnt make a mistake in not accepting Lidners money because they stood up for their racial rights stood up for their people and stood up for their family Back in those days and even still now black people are still receiving racists comments from other races and still being segregated This family has had many life struggles with segregation and many life lessons but they learned a major lesson when not taking the money from Mr Lidner The Youngers showed there since of pride towards their people and showed that they werent going to cause harm in Clybourne Park In the Youngers time segregation was a major part of their lives They worked for other races transported other races and cleaned for other races for a well-paying job It was a time where they had many trials and tribulations and went through many life struggles with jobs and finances This time not only caused separation but basically broke the family apart in many ways Segregation caused Walter to become self-centered him wanting to be rich and him teaching his son Travis how important money is It caused major conflict with him and his wife easily separating because of Walters appetite for money His mother was trying to figure out where his attitude came from and his sister thought less of him because of his actions The money has not only caused anger against Walter but caused the family to become hopeless in each other It was also a stand for their people in not accepting Lidners money Walter then realized that it was time be a man that he had to teach his son the importance of life and in making life
