"You do a great job of covering Abbot's ideas regarding the purpose of education, and your counterpoints are well founded. However, it would be a good idea to introduce Abbot by first and last name and to mention the title of the speech you're analyzing. Your essay is easy to read through, and you've handled the majority of your citations well. There is one instance though where a period needs to be moved so that it appears after a parenthetical citation instead of before it. Also, while it's good that you use square brackets to indicate altered content in quotes, some of your quotes feature a lot of text in square brackets, which may lead the reader to wonder what the original text was and the degree to which you've altered it. Moreover, although it is acceptable to use italics for emphasis, such special formatting should be used sparingly. Overusing italics in this manner may prove distracting to the reader and lose the effect of highlighting specific words or points."
