For my interview project I chose to interview my friend and fellow coworker Judy Davis Judy Davis is a twenty eight year old that has a rare condition of hearing impairment Her condition of hearing impairment is considered to have the equivalents to an eighty year olds hearing loss Judy said that she found out at the age of five that she was deaf while in school when teachers believed that she was ignoring them during class When test were conducted though they found out that she was actually born deaf To this day they have not found out why she has a hearing impairment Her category would be a physical disability due to the face that she is unable to function well without the use of a hearing aid It would not be a visible physical disability unless you notice that Judy is using a hearing aid in order to function People view disability in multiple ways Judy believes that a disability is something that becomes a part of you and just requires you to just adapt differently than others One thing that I learned from Judy from not only this interview but working with Judy is that your disability should not discourage you from everyday things Judy is our manager at Johnny Rockets and manages to cook and serve customers despite having a hearing impairment She says that it is hard to hear and understand people at moments but it is not as bad because her hearing aid helps her She said you can like other disabilities get surgery to fix the problem but the problem is that it does not always work and the cost effects it Judy told me that not a lot of people would really discriminate deaf people because it
