Bridget's feedback:
"This is a spritely essay with a lot of energy and a sense of humor. I have to admit I am not quite sure what the purpose or ultimate goal is beyond entertaining the reader, so I will have to put the ball back in your court. Check your prompt and make sure this draft meets the expectations of your instructor. This should include assessing the rhetorical situation to check up on your tone, voice, style, and approach to the topic, including playing fast and loose with the facts. Make sure, as well, that you keep hold of the reins when writing in a humorous or ironic mode. For example, "Anorexics don't count" has a meanspirited vibe that doesn't quite match up with the rest of the essay but also risks setting the tone. In those decisions, be purposeful.
My other main recommendation is to proofread very carefully. A casual or informal tone necessarily leans on proper mechanics in ensuring inflections, moods, and humor are being accurately conveyed. A polished piece of writing also anticipates objections by establishing ethos, so watch out for minor and careless errors like the incorrect possessive apostrophes in para. 3."
