Bridget's feedback:
"This is a solid introduction to your topic, and each paragraph makes good use of a focused and direct structure and organization that helps organize the reader's experience with the various ideas and supporting details. As you head into the final page or so, the paragraphs (or perhaps the essay's sense of focus) gets a little scattershot, with the mill architecture paragraph feeling a little bit like an afterthought. Consider if some further conceptual or thematic grouping can help inform incorporation of this two-sentence paragraph into one of the above broader discussions (e.g., the paragraph above the mill paragraph).
Similarly, the last three paragraphs might be blended into a final single concluding paragraph. You can start by squashing them into a single paragraph in the current order, but once you do so, review this new combined paragraph and see where transitions, trims, or other edits will be needed to accommodate the new form.
I will also suggest bringing together your second and third paragraphs into a single container for early Roman history details; I recommend this because the current two shorter paragraphs suggest each contains information equally important to the rest of the discussion. I do not think this is the case (the salient points across these two paragraphs are regarding the location and the mythic quality of early Rome); instead, a fused paragraph will get your reader through this background information as such to arrive at our first most relevant point on the built environment timeline: the "crude huts.""
