Bridget's feedback:
"You demonstrate good control of the subject matter, and your use of details contributes to an interesting and dynamic discussion. The specific purpose of this essay is a little hard to determine; the opening alludes to influences on the modern world, and the body provides a solid overview of the time periods. To take the opening paragraphs as an example, without a sense of the overall project, the order of the paragraphs seems to lack purpose, and beyond, the section headings do most of the organizational and structural work as regards the reader's comprehension of the bigger picture. A conclusion can do a lot of good work in guiding the reader, so consider turning your attention to that as well as you move forward.
Related to the above, work further with transitions from sentence to sentence, within paragraphs, to help guide the reader via flow. By integrating this connective tissue, the reader understands both the current point and how it fits into the wider discussion."
