Andrew Jackson as of yesterday was interviewed on the subject of the Native Americans In expressing his point of view he felt extremely strong upon the removal of the Indians As president Jackson should treat the citizens of his country equal His rude comments and hypocrisy are not surprising to the public Here is the interview of Jackson on October 3 1826 Whig Why are you so against the Indians living in the South Jackson Well these Cherokees dont have the same character as whites They are different from us and cannot live among the white people Whig But isnt true that the Indians looked to your government Mr Jackson for protection in which the Supreme Court stated that the Indians should be entitled to their lands Jackson Well that doesnt matter because they arent entitled because they are living on gold That gold belongs to us the whites and not them That was just a short example of what happened in that interview Andrew Jackson is a hypocrite He hates nullification but yet he wont allow the supreme court to make a decision on their own about this matter Jackson is racist hypocritical and inconsistent as president He has no feelings towards the other side of the issue Why does he believe that the Indians are so uncivil If they were living fine on their own why did he have to interrupt the peace This is how he acquired the name Old Hickory He is known to do one thing and then the next day say the opposite He isnt the best person we need to be making such big decisions What Jackson did to these Indians was tragic and awful He sent his troops to Georgia to move the Indians against their will Not only was this move against the Cherokees will but it was against the chief justice John Marshalls will But Jackson refused to carry out the decision of
