Holden Caulfied in my opinion is a strange person who seems to keep to himself In some ways he can and cant be considered a typical teenager of todayHolden is a young male who is struggling through school and trying to get over the death of his young brother who died of leukemia Along with this misfortune Holden gets kicked out of Pencey University when his grades reach and ultimate low Holden has trouble interacting with people and he just cant stand his roommate Stradlater He considers him to be a phoneyHolden thingks that a lot of people are phoney You hardly ever see him talking good about someone unless its someone he likes such his little sister Phoebe Phoebe is someone he loves more thatn anyone mostly because he can say anything to her and she will understand himLike most teenagers of today Holden swears constantly It seems to me that his favorite swear is goddam Typical teenagers of today dont say swears such as goddAM Teenagers of today say swears that are more like slangsIn the novel Holden feels lonely He fears to go home because his parents will be displeased with the fact that there son is kicked out of school again The typical teenager of today would fear going home if something that bad were to happen to them Teenagers of today would lie to their parents to hide the truthIm the most terrific liar you ever saw in your lifeBibliographyCatcher in the Rye
