Aristotle writes the golden means to explain to people that virtue is the middle of decisions between two means one as a deficit and the other as an excess defending on the situation and on the individual Lets bring fear and confidence into action Lets pretend there once was a man walking down a path and suddenly he stops to see a girl playing on a bridge who then fell into a river stream There are three options that the man has One he could pretend not to see anything and walk away second choice is he could jump in and try to save the girl himself or the third option he call for help It is important to know that this an average man with no a training of rescuing people in dangerDue to the fact this is an average man he would act in a deficit away if he would pretend not see anything and walk away cowardice while the excess behavior would be to jump in and save the girl Rashness especially without knowing the dangers that lies inside the river According to Aristotle the best decision for him his to call for help courage So the golden means in this situation would be to call for help Now if it was another man with specialist in saving people in times of danger than he could jumpin that would the man golden means Aristotle teaches that not everyones golden will be the same because it depends on the individual situation and their analysis of the situation
