Kelly EricksonMr BlakesleeAdvanced Comp - 1st hour23 September 2013The Name GameWhat is it about names Parents spend hours on end looking for the perfect name for their child My mom told me that she bought name books and spent many hours looking through them We identify people through their names but do names define someones personality After doing some research I found that with a few exceptions my name does not define my personality Right after I was born the very first thing my parents did was gave me a name On May 31 1997 I was named Kelly The minute I asked my mom why she named me Kelly she proudly said that Kelly has a very bubbly tone to it and every Kelly she ever knew had a very bubbly personality Additionally ever since she was young my mom knew that her second daughter would be named Kelly I was asked to look up the meaning of my name but I was hesitant at first I was not sure that I wanted to know what Kelly meant because I was afraid that it would not match my personality Fortunately my name does Kelly is an Irish name and it means warrior A warrior has many personalities such as strength passion and leadership Throughout my life I have been put in many leadership roles and in each role I have shown passion to meet my goal One of my biggest leadership roles occurred in 7th grade I decided that I would like to raise 8000 to build three water wells in Liberia Africa These three water wells provided water to over 9000 people It took me around a year to complete my goal but I never gave up even though I had some bumps in the road along the way Another source suggests that Kelly exemplifies someone who makes friends easily and is a fast thinker I am a very outgoing person
