The author of the short story Most Dangerous Game is Richard Connell Jr he was best remembered for writing Most Dangerous Game Richard Edward Connell was born on October 17 1893 in Poughkeepsie New York Ever since his childhood Connell was a talented writer and even became an editor for his local newspaper the Poughkeepsie News-Press by age sixteen His father served in the House of Representatives so Connell served as his fathers secretary and congressional aide He attended Georgetown during his employment but left after a year to fight in Europe during World War I When he returned from war he enrolled at Harvard University where he edited both of the schools newspapers His father passed away in October 1912 In 1919 Connell began his freelance writing career and became widely popular Residing in his home in Beverly Hills California he published four novels four collections of short stories numerous Hollywood screenplays and many articles for local newspapers Critics quickly recognized his talent and recognized him as a new master of short fiction His short story The Most Dangerous Game first published in 1924 and proved to be his greatest success He published more than 300 short stories during his lifetime and continued writing until he suffered a heart attack and died in 1949The writing style of Most Dangerous Game is incredible so much detail in one direct line of a paragraph Connell packs a lot of mood into one sentence so look here He was finding the general a most thoughtful and affable host a true cosmopolite But there was one small trait of the generals that made Rainsford uncomfortable Whenever he looked up from his plate he found the general studying him praising him narrowly Connell loads a lot into these two characters leading the reader to assume we have some clear-cut oppositions going on The writing of this short story is just perfectThe symbols and imagery in the story are very
