Students Comprehension of the Issue Reality TV shows are the most popular shows on television today Some believe that reality TV shows affect our society in a negative way and others dont The individuals who agree that it does affect our society in a negative way think this because a lot of the behavior on reality shows arent acceptable for children and teens to be watching but the other side believes that reality TV is just simply for entertainment Those who think it has a negative affect believe that it could affect people on a day to day basis because what is seen could determine how someone may act This issue is similar to being influenced by your peers it just so happens that someone that could have an effect on you could be right on your television screen Everyone has friends that they hang around with each day and while this happens many notice that they start to say similar things or even behave in similar ways This issue is related to reality TV shows because it demonstrates if something is heard or viewed enough it could alter the way someone could actDuring reality TV shows gender is a very big factor because it portrays how men and women should be like Men are often portrayed as players who have sex with multiple girls have lots of money and well as big egos While women are displayed to act like hoes that go out and party all the time These ideas of the way women and men arent always necessarily true but a lot of reality shows display one aspect of how men and women are In todays society our culture has changed drastically on the way men and women are perceived and this is often displayed in reality TV The American dream is no longer the norm but the broken home seems to be all Americans know today Instead of
