The title of this artwork is called RIP the Future The medium of this piece is a collage varying from news paper articles to poison warnings The movement of this piece although it doesnt entirely fit one form best represents the abstract Some of this collage is enhanced with depth abstraction easier seen from a close proximity and various illusions Symbolically the piece equally embraces the abstract movement expressed through visual representations For example the red paint splatter although a novice artistic technique provides an alarming visual disturbance as if depicting a murder scene I choose the collage method because it gives me the ability to sample unorthodox artistic visuals that are typically disregarded in the context of art barcodes and words I feel that art is best expressed abstractly and is more honest representation of the artist I avoid selecting articles that support a theme or an attitude but rather exhibit the blandness that is news media Other visual cues that I have added include a commercial for the new I-phone 563 a sarcastic jab at consumers There are physical markings in pen with simple statements and observations of the articles depicted Space is cool Yesterdays answers are useless and cyber bullies are a few of the words and phrases that were conjured up as a creative response to the articles They are written in as notes and serve as a sarcastic commentary to the exceptionally bland nature that represents the news paper In making this piece I sort through the newspapers to find something significant but its all generic watered down and irrelevant The emotional frustration is depicted here The artwork attempts to destroy the medium of news media by personifying its nature and splattering its blood across the art work as if symbolically slaying everything I have discovered The realization is had where the information gathered is not a discovery rather a spoon fed
