People often say life is goes my too quickly like it was just a blink of an eye If we feel life goes by too quickly then why do we act hastily We need to learn to slow down and enjoy each moment we have to live In William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet the three characters Friar Laurence Romeo and Capulet perpetuate the main theme of haste throughout the play which results in a tragic ending Friar Laurences hasty actions effects the lives of many people throughout the play Within 26 he marries Romeo and Juliet hoping to bring the families together and end the feud But instead everything is rushed when Paris chooses to marry Juliet a day early So quickly thinking Friar Laurence gives Juliet a potion to appear dead sending a letter explaining this to Romeo The letter however did not reach Romeo in time and both Romeo and Juliet ended up killing themselves which ironically brought the families to end the feud but their hatred continued on Throughout the play Romeo is overemotional and constantly hastily Starting the play Shakespeare shows Romeo overreacting to the lack of love received from Rosaline Later on he goes to a party and meets Juliet quickly forgetting about Rosaline Within a few hours Romeo and Juliet hastily decide to get married but Juliet did have her fears and states It is too rash to unadvised too sudden too like the lightening 22118-119 Not long after their marriage Tybalt Juliets cousin kills Romeos friend Mercutio making Romeo seek vengeance by killing Tybalt Later Juliet drinks the potion to appear dead Romeo hastes to kill himself If Romeo were to wait merely seconds later he would see Juliet awaken and know she was not deadBeing the head of the household Capulet often tends to seek opportunities and takes them without thinking twice He can be seen as selfish seeing what he wants and taking it no matter
