Hardships drive one to transform naive characteristics into mature characteristics Shakespeares The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet tells the story of two star-crossed lovers and the tragedy that ensues from their love for each other Romeo and Juliet come from rival families in Verona but they break the status quo with their unprecedented love The story explains their constant bad luck which results in their tragic death Juliet changes drastically as a result of their bold actions of love By the end of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Juliets nave outlook on life transforms into a mature perspective Shakespeare showcases this change through Juliets unwillingness to marry display of passionate love for Romeo and desire to kill herself for RomeoJuliets unwillingness to marry demonstrates her naive outlook on life at the beginning of the story In response to Lord Capulets question of marriage to Paris Juliet replies It is an honor I dream not of 1366 At such a young age marriage has not crossed the mind of the youthful Juliet She may embrace the idea of marriage in the future but in the present marriage does not seem an option to Juliet In a conversation about marriage to Paris with her mother and nurse Juliet agrees to look to like if looking liking move but no more deep will she endart her eye than your consent gives strength to make it fly 1397-98 Juliet essentially states that she does not desire to marry Paris however she will abide by her parents wishes and attempt to love Paris Yet again these yielding childish actions of letting others determine Juliets life prove her youth and immature perception At a family party Juliet immediately falls in love with Romeo and gives him her lips 15106 This sudden romantic gesture resembles the immature Juliet Without giving a thought about Paris her suitor
