According to IMDb Titanic is a movie directed by James Cameron which was released in 1997 sec1 The Oscar winning film depicts the fatal sinking of the Titanic while also telling a tragic love story between two fictional characters Rose Kate Winslet and Jack Leonardo Dicaprio The film follows the two love birds as they inevitably fall in love just days before the sinking of the ship The movie Titanic was a story line told by an older Rose DeWitt Bukater played by Gloria Stuart She was portrayed as a survivor of the tragedy who gave a detailed analysis of her experience on the ship to scientists who were on a quest for The Heart of the Ocean a fictional diamond worn by Rose Rose was a higher class female who was privileged enough to board the Titanic first class She was accompanied by her mother Ruth and her Fiance Cal Rose was engaged to Cal although she felt as though the decision wasnt hers While aboard the ship Rose met Jack a lower class gentleman who found his way on the Titanic by a lucky game of cards It was inevitable that the two would fall in love Jack allowed Rose to be her true self while her mother and Cal were forcing her to be the woman they wanted her to be Jack and Roses heart-filled relationship was unfortunately cut short on April 15th the day the Titanic said its goodbyes Rose was rescued by lifeboats after the ship sunk but Jack wasnt so fortunate and perished in the sinking The movie Titanic depicts reality in some ways but in others not so much As stated above Jack and Rose were fictional characters as well as Roses mother and fiance Real characters from the movie include Captain EJ Smith Bernard Hill Bruce Ismay Jonathon Hyde Margaret Molly Brown Kathy Bates Jacob Astor Eric Braedon and Thomas Andrews Victor Garber Most
