In the article The Time for Delay on Syria is Over by Evan Moore a Senior Policy Analyst appeared on US News on May 1st 2013 He uses an image to make his article more visually appealing by depicting Obama in the middle of a destroyed Syria saying Were still hopeful for a political solution Then Moore establishes that the Obama Administration has failed to prove that Syria had chemical weapons on a small scale but now it is important to the nation to abandon hope of a political solution and instead focus on current issues such as stopping violence in the Middle East Moreover Moore informs his readers by focusing on the outcome this will have on the US and the refugees that are being affected by the dictatorship of Bashar-Al Assad Moores argument is very influential to his readers because it appeals to the interests of the people and its significance in the United States The author effectively uses the rhetorical appeals of logos and ethos to convince his audience of his credibility through creating an effective argument and using emphatic speechFurthermore Moore introduces the article by being informative and argues that the president should take action yet he continues to hesitate The Obama Administrations recognizes that the effort to find chemical weapons in Syria have failed in the last two years He appeals to the heartbroken emotions of the audience by explaining that The Obama Administration should reorient its policy from asking Assad to leave office to forcing Assad to leave office He isnt asking nicely Moore is being assertive due to Bashar Assads brutal and barbaric reignMoore To begin with Moore informs the readers by letting the audience know that there has been over 90000 killings this is an example of the author using logos to prove his argument and maintaining his credibility In addition Moore conveys that the numbers are mounting and that many Syrians were forced to leave
