The Ways We Lie by Stephanie Ericsson Discusses the logic behind Ericssons argument on why people lieExploresher tone and the clarity of her ideas After reading this essay I came to know there is so much different ways to lie Basically we dont think about these thinks but the author Stephanie Ericsson tried to differentiate the different kinds of lie by putting it under sub-headings She shows the ways human lie and she justifies the reason for doing so In this essay she speaks about the white lies facades ignoring the plain facts deflecting omission stereotypes and clichs groupthink out-and-out lies dismissal finally the most important category is delusion is because she says that delusion is a cousin of dismissal is the tendency to see excuses as facts She thinks that is a powerful lying tool and she gives her justification for that I agree with the author Stephanie to an extent it is true that lying may cause hurt somebodys feelings and a simple harmless mistruth would have solved that problem She gives plenty of examples to justifies that The author also states that she tried to go weeks without telling lies and she found it almost impossible Not all lies are intentionally told to hurt people There are necessary times dishonesty is the best decision for all parties involvedIn my point of view sometimes lies are important just not when you lie all the time
