The story begins with the title Im not scared but it is all about being scared of the boy who is named Michele He is really scared and it is true However he knows how to overcome his fear and always does the right thing and becomes a good boy He is compassionate and braveMichele is nine years old boy who lives in the small village and are curious and brave person Michele is symbolic of the innocence of childhood boy Even though he often tells himself Im not scared of anything but in fact he is scared of many things Micheles fears are representative of the fear of most children He is scared of Skull who is the one always bullies others and be very nasty Skull is sadistic leader of the group and liked giving orders Michele is also scared of the melichetti pigs because they can eat people and he thinks they are monster He accepts dangerous dare to climb through an abandoned house because he doesnt want to lose dare even though he is scared of an abandoned house He is also scared of a secret discovery which is the body of a dead boy in the hole who is named Filippo A person with a creepy and ugly face and dirty body was covered by mud Nightmares are the one popular fear of mostly children and especially for Michele He has a huge imagination so he always imagines about those things which are witches ogres monster and dead body He is also scared of Sergio who is the kidnapper He worries that he too will be taken from his parents and imagines both his ears were cut off He is scared of Felice because he beats him and fights against Micheles mother We can see that the novel looks at the way in which fear is a part of our everyday lives from childhood to adulthood However it also shows
