In the book Enders Game by Orson Scott Card the main character is Ender Wiggin Ender is a 6 year old boy who lives on the planet Earth He is an unusually smart kid who is recruited by Colonel Graff of the IF Selective Services Colonel Graff who is in charge of the IF Selective Services Battle School has been watching Ender for a long time He really wants Ender to attend the school At the Battle School Ender would train to be an Officer and someday maybe command his own starship Enders decision to go to Battle School not only affected Ender himself and the people around him but the entire world as well Multiple reasons motivated Ender to make the choice to join the IF Enders brother Peter bullied and tortured Ender because he was jealous of him Ender was afraid of Peter and wanted to get away from him Ender felt like he didnt fit into his family or his school because he was different from everybody else Since he was a third child he felt he owed it to the world to join the military Ender also wanted to be able to protect his sister Valentine if the buggers ever returned to try again to destroy the Earth Ender felt like it was the right thing to do to join the IF and attend to the Battle SchoolEnder is affected by his choice both mentally and physically By going to the battle school Ender had to leave Valentine one of the people that he loved the most A good thing to Ender was grateful for is he got to leave his psycho brother Peter Since Ender was a third child and he got into the battle school he felt a sense of accomplishment Enders choice affected not only him but others His sister Valentine missed him dearly and was the most important person to her It gave time for Peter
