If you were to ask any citizen of the United States of America what the biggest flaw in their health care system is you would expect them to say cost of treatment or lack of insurance Because over 50 million Americans are not insured money is obviously one of the biggest concerns people have especially when their country is going through a recession However the answer many will give you is whether or not they are receiving the best possible care For example this year alone between 135-139 million doses of the flu vaccine are being prepared for the upcoming flu season Each dose will be administered by either a nurse or doctor and should take around 5 to 10 minutes to complete This five minutes includes a short questioner that addresses important information the administer should be aware of Many individuals who received flu shots last year reported nurses skipping this section and just taking their paper and asking their name before giving the shot Skipping this section allows nurses to see patients quicker yet puts the primary patients at risk of reaction and rejection In Michael Moores documentary SICKO he profiles individuals that received the cheapest care instead of the best care at discretion of the insurance company Ultimately the approach to someones treatment should be shared between a doctor and patient I think a way to solve this problem is to not inform the insurance company before you have created a plan of treatment That way you know when the doctor says we did all we could and you know they arent joking In the end it is more than just skipping routine flu shot questioners or missing out on a new treatment The big picture here is that everyone is looking for the cheapest fastest and most convient way to get back on their feet Until we realize that we need to be in charge of our own health and
