Romeo and Juliet is a play that was written back in1595 It was written by a famous playwright William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet is based on Arthur Brookes narrative poem The Tragical History Of Romeus and Juliet written in 1565 The play is about two characters that are in deeply in love but cannot be together because of their familys hatred for one another In the play Romeo and Juliet the characters poor decisions leave everyone grieving at the death of two children Rivalry is one of the many flaws within the characters behavior that leads to tragedy As well unclear communication also leads them to horrible circumstances Lastly the characters main problem would be lying to each other Therefore big enough flaws can impact an entire life Rivalry is one of the main reasons why this play ends in tragedy The characters have a lot of issues because the families cannot get along In the beginning of the play Tybalt one of the Capulets says What drawn and talk of peace I hate the word As I hate hell all Montagues and thee Have at thee coward 1168-70 Tybalt is challenging one of the Montagues Benvolio to a duel He is basically saying he does not want peace he hates all Montagues and come fight him This situation later leads to tragedy because moments after they fight the Prince shows up and enforces consequences for the next time the feud between families is brought up The Prince is fed up with this family feud and decides death is in order for the person at fault Romeo later gets banished from Verona due to these consequences Romeo angry and upset tells Benvolio Alive in triumph And Mercutio slain Away to heaven respective lenity And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now Now Tybalt take the villain back again That late thou gavest me for mercutios soul Is but a little way
