Topic Do you think that mentally ill people are responsible for their symptoms or are they victoms of an illness Recognize valid points of opposite point of viewI believe that people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD are victoms of a illness For a person to be diagnosed with PTSD they have to have a traumatic event in life occur Some examples of people who may be diagnosed with PTSD are childhood abuse soilders people who suffered in car accidents etc A person who has a traumatic event occur in their life never wanted this to happen to themselves if anything they would wish this event would have never happened When victoms of PTSD have a nightmare or night terror they happen without the victom even knowing when they will happen These victoms are suffering with this symptom of recurring flashbacks These flashback will occur at anytime The flashbacks include some of the traumatic event that happened to the victom Sometimes there is even a trigger that will start the flashbacks For example if someone got into a car accident at night then when they are driving at night they receive flashbacks of the car accident When dealing with the unconscious mind no one has control over it therefore people with PTSD are victoms of the illness There are some people out there that may think that people with PTSD are responsible for their symptoms They may think that what was done to them was meant to happen and they should be lucky to be alive They may also argue that the patient with PTSD should stay away from the triggers that cause flashbacksWhen looking at the biology of panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder people who have either disorder are also victoms The cause of panic disorders comes from a small area located in the brainstem the locus coeruleus
