One of my most significant places is the Arrowhead desert in SanBernardino California This will always be the place that I callhome I grew up going there nearly everyday I will never forgetthe countless hours that I spent there watching the sunset go down Thedesert is probably one of the most beautiful scenes anyone will everencounter Looking over at the mountains and seeing the sun as itappears 10 times bigger pop up right in your face The beautifulorange-ness that the sun puts out seeing the real significance of whatthe sun really does for us humansI will never forget the first time that my parents brought me to thedesert with them It was my parents and all of my older brothers andsisters We all went there for my first time at the age of 6 and wewent there to spend the day for all of us to have fun and ride dirtbikes and four wheelers I didnt really know how to ride at that timeand I had a little 50cc dirt bike I remember my Dad would try helpingme ride it once I get going he would always be at my side running nextto me encouraging me to keep going I remember how much harder it wasto try riding a dirt bike in the sand than it was to ride on a hardsurface Progressively through the day I was getting better at ridingso my dad let me go by myself The next thing that I remember isfalling and lying on the sand At that moment it occurred to me thatdirt biking was my passion and along with the Arrowhead desert Ididnt just get up I laid there for a bit until my Dad came over to meand asked me whats wrong I replied to him and said I just want tolie here for the moment and enjoy
