Baseball is an integral part of the American pop culture Many Americans grow up with baseball playing it before they can even count all the bases It is glorified taught and fed to us from toddlers to teenagers While playing baseball people find a respect for the game The respect people gain from playing baseball has turned the game into a tradition of American culture Baseball has formed itself into the business of Major League Baseball Professional players have become recognized all over the world Players are sought out and admired by fans and because of this popularity these players have written books endorsed commercial products and found successful and rewarding careers by playing a game According to Wallup author of Baseball An Informal History baseball has been a part of our culture since the mid to late nineteenth century Wallup 16 Americans great grandparents grandparents and parents have been brought up with it and these parents teach the sport to their children When the notion of baseball comes to mind of Americans a feeling of nostalgia and tradition has to come to mind Many of Americans feelings and memories originate from their childhood Fathers and children arrived at the baseball stadium to watch the game during the summer Children remember walking up the concrete walkway inside the stadium hand in hand with their fathers The concrete walls and floors made the surroundings drab and gray until they make it to the entrance of the stadium They remember the family walking out of the dark tunnel and coming into the bright sunlight The childs eyes widened as the vivid rush of colors came to their eyes The players in white and blue uniforms warming up for the game the well-watered grass on the field the edge of the infield where the dark watered-down dirt met the intensely green grass was all a part of the first experience When the family finally found
