The lights turned on in the gym we were so delighted It had beenraining early in the morning so we did not know if we were going toplay today This game was a chance for us to be number one in theleague We warmed up I was so excited for this game I had butterfliesin my stomach my hand was sweating and I felt like I was going to passout Suddenly the buzzer rang and I knew it was almost time to playbasketball I looked at my teammates and they were still warming up Ilooked towards the stands there were so many people I got even morenervous and then I saw my entire family there for support I feltecstatic and realized something that moment I love to playbasketball As the game started I was overtaken by a different side of me Apersonality in which I was the most confidence person in the world Thereferees blew their whistle my opponents and I headed to the middle ofthe court I looked at my opponents they had been coming off a threegame winning streak and they most of the people in the stands wererooting for them I told myself This is not going to be an easy gamefor me The referee tipped off the game we won the tip and had thefirst possession of the game We moved the ball from side to side untilthe defense opened up I drove through the open and scored the firstshot of the game I was overwhelmed with everything I felt like we weregoing to win this game But the other team scored immediately The gamewas back and forth the crowd was roaring They would score and then wewould score It was half time and we were down by 10 points I still had a goodattitude and believed we could still win We had a little huddlediscussing what we needed to do in order to win the game I knew I
