My first idea about special education was that I was inspired to study special education because I knew that I am going fall in love working with individuals with disabilities Thats what I planned to do with my life Since I can recall I have always desired to be a part of education not because I was influenced by my teachers but because I really want to help students and become an icon in education Ever since I was young I had always dreamt of becoming a part of educating youth and making a difference in their life I remembered when I was young I would teach my sister and pretend to be her teacher Throughout my academics years so far I have been going back and forth deciding what I want For instance initially I wanted to become a general education teacher afterwards I wanted to join the navy because I started to see that education was being unfair At times I would get frustrated with myself because I saw that my peers already had in mind what to pursue but I was indecisive about my career goals But the day that I started to be more involved in organizations and spoke to reliable resources I became aware that special education was entitled for my future As a student I always had in mind that I would study to become a future educator I never did know what I really wanted to teach either K-8 or high school I could say I was very indecisive on deciding to pursue a teacher career Since I was a young girl education has always fascinated me because I saw that it gave my grade school teachers the opportunity to change individuals life By helping they learned new things and for me learning was a beauty a beauty that can never be taken away I would always admire how my teachers made a big change in students life
