Age 16 as a grade 9 student the HPV vaccination debuted in Canada It was recommended that all females from the age of 9-26 to receive the vaccination Prior to receiving the vaccination pamphlets regarding HPV and the HPV vaccination were given to each individual The pamphlet stirred up both positive and negative vibes but judging upon the statistics of people that were willingly vaccinated the pros outweighed the cons However approximately 2 months after the vaccination had debuted a controversial issue regarding the affects of the HPV vaccination arose It arose controversial issues such as the chances of cervical cancer the price the side effect and various othersAfter a couple years of pondering on the legitimacy of the HPV vaccination and reading many government sources such as the Public Health Agency of Canada it came to pass However ironically after beginning this class Health Controversies I was reintroduced to the topic of HPV during the second lecture Professor Jon Johnson elaborated on this topic quite a bit allowing me to receive a thorough explanation on the difference controversies of HPV So during this time of the lecture was when I decided I would be more then satisfied to research a bit more and complete my assignment on the HPV vaccination Many different research questions popped in mind Research questions such as the side effects of the HPV vaccination the prevention of which cancers can it help those that have already been affected with HPV How long it lasts in the system and if it needs a top up All these different research questions helped me in the process of finding published and peer reviewed articles Using many different article databases the two databases that were the most helpful in this research process were Scopus and PubMed however Google Scholar wasnt too bad Google Scholar being the first database I used I typed HPV in the search engine and the articles that appeared werent to
