Theory Professional reasoningis a whole body process rather thanlooking solely at the condition This makes the occupational therapy process differ in experience between real life practice and reading a case studyIn this part I will be exploring the most suitable theoretical approach and clinical reasoning aspects relating to LynnI choose the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance CMOP because it looks specifically at the interaction and the interrelationship of the person their environment and the occupations they perform during their lifespanTherefore the interaction between them is essential to determine the independency of the client engaging in each one of them Moreover The CMOP categorises the area of occupational performance into self-care leisure and productivity which it makes easier to analysesIn Lynn caseit can be observed how the condition Carpal tunnel syndrome is affecting her ability to perform daily life activity and work efficiency For example before her condition occurs she was the main homemaker or she used to enjoy sewing now however her performance capacity has declined The CMOP is the first framework to acknowledge and focuses primarily spirituality in human occupation which is positioned at the core of the person For example Lynn is very motivated to go back to work which will contribute significantly in the intervention planning Furthermore The CMOP emphasises on the importance of occupation the uniqueness of human beingsand self-determination of the individual These will help me to involve the client in the intervention planningThe main aspectsof clinical reasoning that I used to analysis and plan intervention for Lynn were Narrative reasoning scientific reasoning which includes Diagnostic and Procedural reasoning andInteractive reasoning I applied narrative reasoning to understand Lynns situation and preference based on her life story which includes past and current experience and anticipation of the future For exampleLynn is feeling anxious because she is not able to maintain her normal function as a homemaker and as fieldwork coordinator I usedscientific reasoning to understand how the condition is affecting
