A huge and very important part of the broader rehabilitation profession is a desire to help people There are many people who have disabilities and need somebody who wants to help and improve the lives of someone with a disability by working with individuals with psychical mental or emotional disabilities I have always been interested in helping people because I have goals to improve the life of another and make anothers world a better place to be I am excited to go down this career path and I expect to learn more about vocational rehab and to further my interests by getting involved with events that professions in vocational rehabilitation offer as I begin my studies The specific area that I am planning to specialize in is criminal justice where I will be working with public offenders I have always been interested in criminal justice and helping public offenders get back on the right track in life because everyone deserves to have a successful and happy life and one of my biggest goals in life is to help others live a high-quality life By learning more about criminal justice I will become even more interested in the career One way I plan on learning more about criminal justice and expanding my interests is by interning for jails when I have the opportunity This will provide increased exposer to people with the types of disabilities that I am interested in Interning will also help me expand my interests and learn more about criminal justice because I will be around others who are also in that profession and I will be around individuals who are in need of rehabilitation services This will help me see what happens daily and what type of help is given to public offenders I also plan on furthering my interest in criminal justice by reading about the career and what it involves I will also talk to people who have a career
